The topic of adding images has come up recently on the Forum. In order to remove the risk of infringing copyright laws, we are recommending you use Flickr as a source for images. Here is how to add an image from Flickr:
- Go to www.flickr.com
- Click on the Search link or Search button
- Click on the Advanced Search link beside the Search button on the Search page
- Enter your search term and tick the two options shown here in the Creative Commons area of the search page. Then click Search.
- All images shown in the results are free for you to use as long as you acknowledge the source of the images in your Item or Course description. You may also have to indicate the licence of the image if you see "Some right reserved" under Additional Information about the picture.
- When adding the image to your Item or Course on LingQ, indicate the Flickr username and profile url in the description field. ie. Image courtesy of mark (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mark/)
- If necessary, indicate the licence terms of the image here as well. ie. Some rights reserved (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). You can just copy this text and link here.
